Faye Pancake
GOLDEN – Services for Alta Faye Pancake, 82, of Golden, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church, Golden, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Craig Kearby officiating.
Burial will be in Golden Cemetery, Golden.
Mrs. Pancake passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, in a Mineola nursing home.
She was born December 4, 1931, in Turnersville, to the late David Esron and Trudie Franklin Wilson. She married Alwin Russell “A.R.” Pancake, Jr., on December 20, 1947, in Turnersville, and they had been married 64 years at his death on January 21, 2012. Previously of Arlington, she had lived in Golden since 1984. She volunteered at the Quitman hospital as a Pink Lady, delivered Meals on Wheels, and loved bowling. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church, Golden.
Survivors include her son, Cecil Pancake and wife Julie of Murphy; daughters, Margaret Smith of Golden, and Sandra Hagan and husband Victor of Palestine; brother, David Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Mary Lee Hill of Gatesville, and Sue Phipps and husband Melvin of McLeansboro, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Michaela Pancake, Bryan Smith and wife Tiffany, and Dennis Smith and wife Faith; and 3 great-grandchildren, Grace Dennehy, Joy Smith, and Isaiah Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Ivalene Pruitt, Inez Weaver, and Lucille Hurley.
Pallbearers are Larry Hughes, Will Holland, Darrell Galyean, Ken Lattin, Mike Martin, and Jerry Cave.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m.
