Obituary for Hazel Clara Bohannan (Phipps)

ALBA - Services for Hazel Clara Bohannan, 88, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Open Door Church, Alba, with Bro. Randy Bohannan and Bro. Michael Bohannan officiating.
Burial will be in Golden City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bohannan passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at her residence.
She was born August 11, 1925, in Deport, to the late John and Huie Maggie Moss Phipps. She married B. D. Bohannan August 24, 1943 in Cunningham. They moved to the Alba-Golden area in 1962. She and her husband founded Open Door Church and pastored there for 29 years. They had been married 60 years when he passed away September 14, 2003. She loved her church, her family, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Benny Darrell Bohannan and Dennis Ray Bohannan; sisters, Pearl Crump and Ethel Nelson.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Janiece Bohannan, Gary and Karen Bohannan, and Randy and Debbie Bohannan all of Alba; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Kay Thompson of Alba, Sharon and Bill Miller of Ada, Oklahoma, and Lynda Wilburn and Bill Siebenthaler of Alba; 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a total of 110 descendents.
Pallbearers are Jamie Thompson, Gary Dean Bohannan, Tim Bohannan, Brandon Bohannan, Dwayne Thompson, Dennis Bohannan, Doug Bohannan, and Bill Darrell Miller.
Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
