ALBA – Cremation arrangements for Elizabeth “Betty” Massey Moore, 79, of Alba, are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
A memorial service conducted by the family and the church will be Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Alba United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holcomb officiating.
Betty passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, at her residence.
She was born October 1, 1934, in Starkville, Mississippi, to the late William Carson and Mildred Louise Porter Massey. Betty attended Mississippi State for three years and was an avid bridge player. She married Samuel B. Moore January 4, 1954, in Starkville, Mississippi. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and homemaker. She had lived in Alba since 1994, and was a member of the Alba United Methodist Church. She loved many, and many loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Samuel B. Moore, Sr. of Alba; sons and wives, Samuel B, Jr. and Jane Kelly Moore, Perry Moore, and Mike and Vickie Moore all of Arlington; daughters, Leslie Moore Bledsoe and husband Gary of Mansfield, and Janet Moore of Alba; sister, Mary Nell Massey Nail of Columbus, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William C. Massey, Jr., and Robert W. Massey; elder sister, Mildred Massey Wofford; and grand-daughter, Stephanie Bledsoe.
