A part of our Lives
Many years ago I sold a house to Josie Yarbrough and her Son Gary, I had lived in this house for 36 years and really did not have any thoughts or intentions of moving away from it but on a National Holiday (4th of July 1998). Someone ring my doorbell and told me the had heard that I might be interested in selling my house, it was Gary, he asked me if he could look at it. I first said no but my Daughter was there visiting and urged me to let him view it, that I might decide to sell it sometime, so I did.
Gary loved the house and put me on the spot that he and his Mom would like to buy it. Wow I will have to give it long and hard thought but I will get back to you
After lots of deep thought and conversations, visits etc. I said I would sell.
Things moved real fast and by the end of August we closed the deal.
Gary and Josie became some of dearest friends I have ever had.
Josie was one of the strongest and fit females that I have ever known. She told me she walked every day for at least five miles. At that time she was in her middle seventys. She was a very giving person also.
I was so impressed that she could do that plus worked, attended bingo and other activities Vis Bus, she did not have a car, she walked and used the bus every day.
We visited each other often and become very close friends. Gary did lots of favors for me as I was a widow and he was so handy at fixing things, he would take part of his day to take care of anything I needed help with.
I treasured their friendship since the day I met them until the present time.
God bless you Gary, she left you her strength, Carry On.
Fondly, Betty Jefferson
