Obituary for Daphne Hammack (Dunbar)

Daphne Hammack (Dunbar)
Services for Mrs. Dorothy Daphne Dunbar Hammack, 84, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. David Crain Officiating.
Interment will follow in Haven of Memories, Canton.
Mrs. Hammack went home to be with the Lord and her awaiting husband on April 21, 2015, in Tyler. She was born February 15, 1931, in Edgewood to Joseph Marvin & Mary Jettie Wilson Dunbar. She spent most of her life in Grand Saline where she worked alongside her husband at Hammack Photography. They opened Hammack Photography in 1948 and they enjoyed working together to capture the most beautiful memories for families through portraits. Daphne was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. She sang in their Senior Adult Choir which also sang and visited the local nursing homes. Her weekly Friday night game group was always looked forward to and she enjoyed hosting on rotation. She also enjoyed her Edgewood game day group. She had fun with the “Fun After 55” group, her Sunday School Class and their activities. She counted her blessings every day. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melton Lee Hammack; and two sisters, Lavonne Craddock and Louise Jefferson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Algie & Mona Hammack of Canton; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne & Mark Scoggins of Denison and Gail & Brad Walker of Canton; sister by choice, Algerine Noblett of Mineola; sister and brother-in-law, Christine & Roy Kidd of Edgewood; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Hammack, Rhonda Brent, Melanie Park, Cynthia Trimble, James Lee Walker, Crystal Walker, Danny Walker and Heather Walker; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brandon Hammack, Lauren Hammack, Haley Brent, Dylan Park, Katie Park, Amanda Trimble Barnett, Charles Trimble, Christian Hagood, Alyssa Walker, Logan Walker, Bailey Walker, Emersyn Walker, Mason Shuble and Stephen Walker; four great-great-grandchildren, Melanie Hammack, Mia Hammack, Michael Hammack and Leland Starnes; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hammack, James Lee Walker, Charles Trimble, Dylan Park, Danny Walker and Christian Hagood.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
