Obituary for Gene Riley
Services for Farris Gene Riley, Jr., 83, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.
Farris ‘Gene’ Riley passed away April 2, 2023, at his residence in Alba, Texas. Gene was born December 24, 1939, in Alba to Farris Gene ‘Pete’ Riley and Mary Imogene Sanders Riley. On May 24, 1963, he married Leetha Faye Birket in Dallas, Texas. Gene served in the United States Army for over 4 years, and retired from Intercontinental Manufacturing in Garland after 30 years of service. He enjoyed raising cattle on his farm in Alba, and spending time with family and friends. Gene gave his life to the service of God, country, and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jackie Riley, and five brothers, George, Bobby, Roy Mac, Ricky, and Chris Riley.
Gene is survived by his wife of 59 years, Leetha Riley of Alba; son, Curtis Riley and wife Robin of Sachse; brother, Randy Riley and wife Aron of Alba; Jaden Smith; three grandchildren, Cole Riley, Casey Bazyk, Rainey Palmer; five great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Riley, Todd Riley, David Dunavin, Monty Ashworth, Lance Luttrull, and Jason Moore.
Memorials can be made to the Alba-Golden Department of Agriculture at agisd.revtrak.net.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
