Obituary for Edward Franklin Burns
Services for Edward Franklin Burns, 94, of Point, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at Greater Vision Church, West Tawakoni, with Bro. Matt Miller officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Mr. Burns passed away February 24, 2023, at his residence in Point. He was born February 20, 1929, in Dallas, to William and Lottie Smith Burns. Edward moved to Point from Dallas 45 years ago and was a member of Greater Vision Church in West Tawakoni. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a very strong man who worked a lot and provided for his family, that he loved greatly. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Lorene Burns; three stepsons, Don Childers, Leroy Childers, and Larry Childers; three grandchildren, Donna, Rochelle, and Renae.
Survivors include six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Childers, Caleb Childers, Brandon Mattison, Isaac Jenkins and Chris Childers.
The family will receive friends 6-8- p.m., Thursday, at Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
