Services for Mr. Carl Burten Smith Jr, 44, of Mineola, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Bartley Funeral Home, in Grand Saline, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.
Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Smith passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, in Longview. He was born August 3, 1978, in Mineola. Carl lived most of his life in Mineola and was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Winter Marquez; grandparents, Helen Lynch Purifoy and James A. Lynch; aunt and uncle, James C. Lynch and Helen Mozelle Rodriquez.
Carl is survived by his fiancée, Anne Hogue of Longview; father, Carl Burten Smith of Lake Tawakoni; mother, Ruby Lynch and Hilario Garcia of Mineola; mother of his children and close friend, Stacey Conner of Longview; 4 daughters, Sadie, Faith, Winter, and Mia Smith, all of Longview; step-daughter, Jade Warren of Illinois; 3 brothers, Fransisco Gonzalez, Hilario Lynch Garcia, and Joshua Marquez, all of Mineola; 2 sisters, Heather and Eleazar Marquez of Mineola and Tricia and Ruben Marquez of Mineola; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be, Fransisco Gonzalez, Joshua Marquez, Royer Marquez, Dalton Lynch, Hilario Garcia, Ruben Marquez Jr, Eleazar Marquez, Josue Marquez, and Claude Vaughn Jr.
