Obituary for Paula Sue Perkins (Gipson)
Services for Paula Sue Gipson Perkins, 61, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, with Bro. Byron George and Laci Caviness officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #2 Cemetery, Golden.
Mrs. Perkins passed away January 16, 2023, at her residence in Alba. She was born February 5, 1961, in Grand Saline, to John Wesley and Margie Ruth Hill Gipson. Paula lived all her life in the Alba-Golden area and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. On July 3, 1986, she married Edward Douglas Perkins in Alba. She loved and cared for her family, especially her grandkids, and was always helping others. Paula was a business woman and entrepreneur, she and her husband, Edward, owned and operated a mechanic shop and she also owned and operated a tanning salon. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a baby brother.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Edward Perkins of Alba; two sons, Dustin Perkins and Reese Perkins and wife Jessica all of Alba; brother, Steve Gipson and wife Brenda of Grand Saline; sister, Lisa Jones of Alba; eight grandchildren, Halle Perkins, Kent Perkins, Kylar Perkins, Remi Perkins, Jayci Perkins, Trenton Perkins, Elijah Perkins, and Delilah Perkins; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Tamara Upchurch for her care and to Ladies of Grace for their love and prayers.
Pallbearers will be John Jones, Dustin Corley, Corby Mosley, Codi Warner, Chance Alberswerth, and Roger Gaby.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Hill, David Hill, and Bryant Childers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
