Linda Kay Finklea, 69, passed away October 12, 2022, at her residence in Mesquite. She was born June 25, 1953, in Dallas, to W. H. and Bennie Nell Greer Finklea, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ben Finklea; and nephew, Ethan Finklea.
Survivors include brother, Randy Finklea of Mesquite; two sisters, Brenda Coltharp of Mesquite and Hilda Murphey of Humble; nephews and nieces, Philip Coltharp, Emily Coltharp (Cara), Charles Murphey (Tracy), Robert Murphey (Ashley), Alex Finklea (Alyssa), Kylie Finklea, and Braden Finklea; great-nieces, Madalynn Murphey and Ansley Coltharp; great-nephew Cooper Murphey and numerous other relatives and friends.
Reading paperbacks, gardening, music concerts and first day at the Texas State Fair were her passions along with holiday baking.
She enjoyed visiting beaches from Texas to Florida and the occasional casino along the way during and after her corporate career at Practical Drawing, Levi Strauss and Sears.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Yantis Cemetery, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
