Obituary for Roscoe "Roscoe P Coltrain" Gore

Services for Mr. Roscoe "Roscoe P Coltrain" Gore, 82, of Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Eagle's Landing Indoor Venue, Mineola, with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.

Mr. Gore passed away July 31, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 16, 1939, in Tabor City, North Carolina, to Rufus King & Ruby Aline Ward Gore. Roscoe spent his early years in Tabor City, NC, and then most of his life in New Orleans East, LA. He was a member of Lake Forest Baptist Church in New Orleans East. He served in the US Army from 1961 - 1964, around the Vietnam era. "Roscoe P Coltrain", as many knew him, was always willing to help others in need. He retired as an auto mechanic for Goodyear after 38 years of service. He was honored as "Mechanic of the Year" for the last 15 years he worked. Mr. Gore was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Unice Crib Gore; infant son, Baby Boy Gore; second wife, Barbara Dargene Crane; sister, Rebecca Ann Troupe; and great-granddaughter, Sofia Gore.

Survivors include his two sons, Timothy Gore and wife April of Ocean Springs, MS, and Stephen Gore and wife Lori of Metairie, LA; two daughters, Tricia Carver and husband Eric of Mineola, and Heather Gore of Lacombe, LA; brother, Richard Gore of Tabor City, NC; three sisters, Rose Marie Saxon of Charlotte, NC, Rita Richardson of Loris, SC, and Roxanne Wright of North Myrtle Beach, SC; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Delton Graves IV, Tyler Cuccia, Mason Carver, Chris Carver, Coby Carver, and Gary Stilwell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delton Graves V, Garrett Gore, and Taylor Gore.

The family will receive friends 10 a.m., Wednesday, before the service, at Eagle's Landing Indoor Venue.
