Services for Judy Ann Trussell, 74, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022, at Caney Creek Cowboy Church with Bro. Randy Edwards officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Chinquapin Cemetery, Canton.
Judy Ann Bowen Trussell passed away May 16, 2022, in Grand Saline. She was born June 10, 1947, in Clovis, NM, to John Leslie & Iona Zelma Ogg Bowen. She spent her early years in Clovis, NM and Lubbock. She had also lived in Terrell and Alba before moving to Grand Saline 47 years ago. She married Charlie Trussell July 17, 1970. Judy was a member of Caney Creek Cowboy Church where she was Chuckwagon Team Leader. She served as Team Leader with Lone Star High School Rodeo Association for 8 years and had worked alongside Charlie on the Grand Saline Rodeo Association for over 50 years. Judy is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Bowen; two sisters, Sue Bowen Lipham, and Jeaneene Bowen Foster; two brothers-in-law, Leroy Lipham, and Ed Poe; six nephews, Donald Sunday, Johnny “Skipper” Lipham, Steven Kimmey, Tommy Trussell, Stephen Ellington, and Douglas Daugherty; and two nieces, Terry Gail McLeod, and Diane Ellington.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Charlie Trussell of Grand Saline; son, Tracy Trussell and wife Rainey of McLoud, OK; daughter, Tina Trussell of Grand Saline; two sisters, Juaneece Poe of Florence, AL, and Phyllis Sunday of Hamlin; five grandchildren, Justin Trussell, Frost Trussell, Shailea Thompson, Dally Trussell, and Davian Trussell; two great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters-in-law, Clara & Billy Phillips of Clarksville, Barney & Lovella Trussell of Alba, Faye & Harvey Kimmey of Grand Saline, Linda & Doug Daugherty of Grand Saline, Mary Beth Bowen of Post Falls, ID, and Bill Foster of Hot Springs, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bert Rex Fite, Marshall McCully, Raymond Keener, Toby Ashabranner, Shawn Piercy, and Anthony Cumbie.
The Grand Saline Roundup Rodeo Association members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Chinquapin Cemetery Association, Canton, TX.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the funeral home.
