Obituary for Joyce Hathcock (Moore)

Services for Joyce Marie Moore Hathcock, 77, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.
Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Grand Saline.

Mrs. Hathcock passed away December 18, 2021, in Grand Saline. She was born September 25, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to Jack Everett and Lillie Lucille Abbott Moore. On August 16, 1963, she married Larry Gene Hathcock in Dallas, and they lived most of their life in Grand Saline. She worked for KMOO Radio, before starting her 40 plus year career as publisher of the Mineola Monitor newspaper. Joyce was a member of the Mineola Kiwanis Club, involved with the Grand Saline Youth Foundation for many years, and an avid Grand Saline Indian Fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Larry Hathcock; and sister, Margaret Rutherford.

Survivors include her two sons, Jason Hathcock and wife Linda and Cody Hathcock and wife Jamie, all of Grand Saline; two daughters, Gena Domingues and husband Al of Arlington and Stacy Deatherage of Grand Saline; thirteen grandchildren, Taylor Lee Garrett, Meagan Shutts, Cole Garrett, Hunter Deatherage, Zoe Deatherage, Reed Deatherage, Drew Hathcock, Shelbey Hathcock, Kori Herring, Bo Hathcock, Alli Hathcock, Garrett Hathcock, and Kallie Stanley; four great-grandchildren, Tag, Hadlee, Fallon, and Graham; two brothers-in-law, Charlie McDowell and wife Karla and Fred McDowell and late wife Robin; life-long friend, Aunt Wanda Edgett and her family Leah Lamb and Lisa Steffel; and numerous nieces, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Al Domingues, Cole Garrett, Hunter Deatherage, Reed Deatherage, Bo Hathcock, Garrett Hathcock, Robert Jacobs, and Taylor Lee Garrett.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
