Services for Horace Lee “H.L.” Barnhart, Sr., 78, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Enon Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Reggie Day officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Golden Cemetery.
Mr. Barnhart passed away November 24, 2021, at his residence in Alba. He was born December 25, 1942, in Farmersville, to Horace Marion and Gladys Estelle Kuykendall Barnhart. On November 13, 1961, he married Carolyn Louise “Kay” Thorson in Dallas. H.L. had lived in the Alba area since 1976 and worked as a carpet layer. He loved for his family to come visit him at his home in Alba. He enjoyed playing his guitar, cornbread and buttermilk, and old cars. H.L. was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years, Kay Barnhart; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Barnhart, Jr. and wife Tracy of Wills Point and Scott Barnhart and wife Celena of Alba; two daughters, Angela Barnhart of Alba and Stephanie Sadler and husband Grant of Alba; four sisters, Hazel Hunt of Mesquite, Tressie Pearman and husband Johnny of Wills Point, Lana Childers and husband Rick of Golden, and Martha Parker of Quitman; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brett Barnhart, Jeffrey Barnhart, Jayden Barnhart, Aiden Haynes, Michael Barnhart, Easton Sadler, Sport Swoape, and Grant Sadler.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home in Alba.
