Obituary for Gerri Sue Thomas (Swindell)
Services for Gerri Sue Swindell Thomas, 62, of Alba are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Samuel Priddy and Bro. Byron George officiating.
Mrs. Thomas passed away August 11, 2021, in Mineola. She was born January 20, 1959, in Ft. Worth, to Clyde Junior and Barbara Cozette Moore Swindell. She had lived the last 21 years in the Alba area and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba. Gerri was a beautician for 30 years. Her favorite day was Friday, when her little elderly ladies came in for their regular hair appointments. She loved her grandkids and always enjoyed them coming to visit. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Swindell; and husband, Joseph Rogers, Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara Swindell of Golden; son, Joe Rogers and wife Misty of Golden; brother, Jeff Swindell and wife Koko of Azle; sister Debbie Diederichs of East Bethel, MN; two grandchildren, AshLyn Rogers and Matthew Rogers; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Rogers, Wade Davis, Kyle Slaymaker, Steve Roach, Kurt Beverly, Travis Moffett, B.J. Marler, and Jason Diederichs.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
