Services for Mrs. Reba Swain Nolen, 89, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021, at New Testament Holiness Church, Grand Saline, with Pastor Peter Gray and Sis. Lou Anderson officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nolen passed away July 5, 2021, at her residence in Grand Saline. She was born September 4, 1931, in Grand Saline to William Henry “Bill” and Luvera Joyner Lovett. Reba was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline and Founding Church Mother of New Testament Holiness Church in the Antioch Community of Grand Saline. She faithfully supported the NTHCI Orphanage in Kenya, Africa. Reba was preceded in death by her parents, W. H. “Bill” and Luvera Joyner Lovett; husband of 44 years, Sammy Swain; two brothers, Bascom Lovett and Billy Lovett; sister, Lavita Faye Lovett; and son-in-law, Sam Priest.
Survivors include her husband, O.H. Nolen of Leonard; son, Mack Swain and wife Jan of Grand Saline; three daughters, Janette Land and husband Mike of Grand Saline, Pam Priest of La Porte; and Anita Marshall and husband Andy of Fairview; sister Betty Jean Heddin of Mineola; thirteen grandchildren, Lisa Coles, Lena McGinn, Casey Land, Chad Swain, Cody Swain, Jill Medina, Paige Lowder, Wilson Priest, Amy Loveland, Todd Dickerson, Alice Reed, Chad Marshall, and Abby Samples; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chad Swain, Cody Swain, Casey Land, Tim McGinn, Wilson Priest, Todd Dickerson, and Chad Marshall.
