Obituary for Jerry Lennard Stroud

Services for Jerry L. Stroud, 82, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Darrell Lewis officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Stroud passed away June 9, 2021, in Grand Saline. He was born March 22, 1939, in Fort Worth, to Hubert & Ruby Mills Stroud. Jerry served in the US Air Force from 1957 - 1960. He spent his early years in Desoto and married Patsy Weddle in Odessa in 1965. He spent the last 45 years in Grand Saline where he was a member of Pruitt Baptist Church, loved animals, and had a passion for sports, especially the Grand Saline Indians. Mr. Stroud was a member of Telephone Pioneers and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone with 30 years of service. He had also worked for the US Postal Service as a mailman on rural routes for 10 years. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Pat Stroud of Grand Saline; two daughters, Debra Collins and husband Russ of Grand Saline, and Kim Petty and husband Ricky of Big Sandy; two grandchildren, Mary Ell and husband Stephen of Ft. Worth, and Austin Petty of Big Sandy; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sydney, and Nina; brother-in-law, Bobby Weddle & Robert Webb of Ackerly; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Stacy of Fruitvale, and Bernice Houck and husband Dan of Sheffield; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Carter Elliott, William Neal, Micah Lewis, Michael Koonce, Paul Trent, and Craig Lott.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
