Obituary for Johnny Ray Jackson

Services for Johnny Ray Jackson, 66, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Elmo Stiggers officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.

Interment will be in Rabb Cemetery, Lone Oak.

Mr. Jackson passed away June 2, 2021, at his residence in Lone Oak. He was born March 10, 1955, in Lone Oak, to Jessie Lee and Nelsene Johnson Jackson. Johnny lived all his life in Lone Oak and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Lone Oak. He loved to hunt and fish, sit under the tree and tell expressive stories of his adventures. He also enjoyed teasing and spoiling the children with any spare change or candy he had in his pocket. Johnny was a hard worker, loyal friend, and beloved Papa, he will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kevin Jackson; and two sisters, Wanda Jackson and Gloria Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Emma Brown of Lone Oak; two sons, Tyrone Brown and wife Michelle of Greenville and Germaine Brown of Bonham; two brothers, Alfred Jackson and wife Julia of Dallas and Dennis Jackson of Ft. Worth; four sisters, Sherry Hubbard of Emory, Gwen Bradley of Albuquerque, NM; Mary Hobbs of Emory, and Tracy Cooper and husband Leon of Emory; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hubbard, James Hubbard, Vince Hubbard, Daniel Hubbard, Eric Jackson, and TyLyn Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Montrae Hobbs, Trenton Hubbard, Chris Trae Hubbard, C.J. Hubbard, and Cameron Brown.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
