Obituary for Boycene "Pokey" Tinsley (Evans)
Services for Mrs. Boycene “Pokey” Evans Tinsley, 81, of Alba, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.
Mrs. Tinsley passed away April 15, 2021, at her residence in Alba. She was born May 11, 1939, in Alba to Tolvie Boyce and Kathleen Galyean Evans. On September 5, 1964, she married Thomas Olson Tinsley in Tyler. She moved from Dallas to Alba in 1996. Boycene retired from Southwestern Bell, after 32 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 39 years, Thomas Tinsley; brother, Thomas Edward Evans; nephew, Glenn Evans.
Survivors include her sister, Bettye Brown and husband Bob of Lake Dallas; nephew, Matt Brown and wife Molly of Aledo; two nieces, Allison Fitzgerald of Lewisville and Amanda Brown of Denton; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tony Galyean, Evan Galyean, Cameron Galyean, Jerry Pogue, Josh Pogue, and Daniel Pogue.
The family will receive friends, 2 p.m., Sunday, at the church.
