Graveside services for James “Jim” Martin Tyson, 56, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2021, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Tyson passed away March 11, 2021, at his residence in Alba. He was born June 20, 1964, in Dallas, to James and Betty Tyson. Jim was a member of the United States Army and a Military Police Officer, serving in South Korea and Germany. He was proud to serve his country. On October 9, 1993, he married Margaret Marie Powell in Alba. He had lived the last 27 years in Alba and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Mineola. He loved his family and his Lord. Jim was an avid reader and never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Margaret Tyson of Alba; parents, James and Betty Tyson of Canton; two stepsons, Dennis Hurst and wife Janet of Mineola and Bryan Hurst and wife Mcxie of Mineola; stepdaughter, Kimberley Watson of Alba; sister, Shirel Tyson and husband Jeff Kyser of Wills Point; five step grandchildren; and one step great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
