Obituary for Glyndon Countryman

Services for Mr. Glyndon Countryman, 85, Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Ishmael officiating.
Interment will follow in Mesquite City Cemetery, Mesquite.
Mr. Countryman passed away March 11, 2021, at his home. He was born December 3, 1935, in De Kalb, to Wilburn Pierce & Lena Faye Burkhart Countryman. He spent his early years in Copeville before moving to Grand Saline 42 years ago. He was a member of House of Grace Church in Edgewood and worked as a carpenter. Glyndon is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Bettie Mixon Countryman of Grand Saline; two sons, Mike Countryman of Grand Saline and Kevin Countryman and wife Misty of Grand Saline; two daughters, Connie Bowden and husband David of Mineola, and Donna Slavens and husband Buster of Grand Saline; brother, Ricky Countryman and wife Pam of Clifton; sister, Martha Hill and husband Sam of Mt. Pleasant; ten grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Slavens, Keith Slavens, Austin Countryman, Jared Mayne, Les Lang, Colby Countryman, Casey Davis, and Chad Countryman.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021, at the funeral home.
