Obituary for Billie Fern Watson (Clower )

Mrs. Billie Fern Clower Watson, 92, of Grand Saline, passed away January 27, 2021, in Tyler. She was born November 19, 1928, in the Antioch Community, near Grand Saline, to Carl and Odessa Whitt Clower. Billie lived all her life in Grand Saline and was a member of the Grand Saline High School Class of 1946. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years, beginning at Jarvis’, then Gray Lumber Co. and Hill Real Estate. Billie served as the treasurer for the Old School Museum, was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Grand Saline Church of Christ. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crocheting, canning, and baking cakes. Unconditional love for her friends and family was her strength. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Edward A. Watson; five brothers, Weldon Clower, Truman Clower, Edward Clower, Glenn Clower, and Danny Clower; seven sisters, Avis Bailey, Joy Green, Betty Kirby, Jean Dickerson, Peggy Boaz, Sue Baugh, and Kay Huffines.

Survivors include her two sisters, Jo Gilchrist of Van and Sherry Shinpaugh of Grand Saline; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Interment will be in Corinth Cemetery.

A public visitation will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old School Museum, 14261 FM 17, Grand Saline, Texas 75140 or Corinth Cemetery Association, 700 VZCR 1315, Canton, Texas 75103.
