Obituary for James Lee Phillips, Jr.
Services for James Lee Phillips, Jr., 55, of Alba are scheduled for 10 a.m., January 9, 2021, at Amazing Grace Fellowship, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Alba.
Mr. Phillips passed away January 2, 2021, in Tyler. He was born August 26, 1965, in Mesquite, to James Lee and Theo Josephine Walls Phillips, Sr. James lived most of his life in Alba and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. He loved cooking barbeque. He was the owner and operator of Backwoodz BBQ and J & L Roofing and Construction. James enjoyed fishing, camping, and going on vacation. He loved to share JESUS and was very strong in his faith. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Harold Eugene Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Phillips of Alba; mother, Jo Phillips of Mineola; two sons, J.D. Phillips of Dallas and Roger Gaby and wife Lisa of Alba; two daughters, Laci Kay Caviness and husband Hayden of Lindale and Kristi Ratliff and husband Paul of Emory; four brothers, Danny Phillips and wife Eva of Alba, Jimmy Phillips and wife Beverly of Alba, Curtis Phillips and wife Betty of Greenville, and Larry Phillips of Alba; four sisters, Lela Sherrin of Rowlett, Joy Slay and husband Jimmy of Forney, Debbie Phillips of Alba, and Sherry Wells and husband Larry of Mineola; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny Phillips, Jimmy Phillips, Curtis Phillips, Larry Phillips, Bobby Simms, and Hayden Caviness.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bucky Terry and Ed Teel.
