Obituary for Billie Jean Sears (Gilbert)
Services for Billie Jean Gilbert Sears, 84, of Alba, are scheduled for 11a.m., Friday, October 2, 2020, at Lake Fork Baptist Church with Bro. Chris Horton officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Rockwall.
Mrs. Sears passed away September 28, 2020, in Sulphur Springs. She was born July 7, 1936 in Rockwall to Alfred Lee and Effie Mae Johnson Gilbert. On January 15, 1954, she married Billy Ray Sears in Rockwall. Billie worked twenty-one years as a secretary for Rockwall ISD and also worked for twelve years as a bank teller in Rockwall. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of sixty-six years, Billy Ray Sears; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Harless Dudley and Bennie Lee and Joe Kenneth Nichols.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Sears and wife Kimberly of New Boston and Dwayne Sears and wife Danette of Sulphur Springs; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be James Roan, Keith Lofland, Randy Lofland, David Ricketts, James Kerr, and Lee Doolin.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Memorial may be made to the Lake Fork Baptist Church Building Fund, 9483 W. FM 515, Alba, Texas 75410.
The family will receive friends, 10 a.m., Friday, at the church.
