Obituary for Billy Ray Sears
Services for Billy Ray Sears, 87, of Alba, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Lake Fork Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Chris Horton officiating, under the direction of Wilson Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Rockwall.
Mr. Sears passed away September 17, 2020, in Sulphur Springs. He was born January 27, 1933, in Rockwall, to John Kelly and Lena Elizabeth Parker Sears. On January 15, 1954 he married Billie Jean Gilbert in Rockwall. Billy served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War Era. He drove an 18-wheeler for thirty-two years and also worked at Rockwall ISD as a maintenance man for thirteen years. He was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church of Alba. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Graem; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Graem and Robert Gayler; and sister-in-law, Elaine Sears.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Billy Jean Sears of Alba; two sons, Michael Sears and wife Kimberly of New Boston and Dwayne Sears and wife Danette of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Bobby Jack Sears of Marble Falls and Tommy Kelly Sears and wife Becky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Betty Gayler of Nacogdoches; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith Lofland, Randy Lofland, David Ricketts, James Kerr, Bo Fites, and Lee Doolin.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of his Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Fork Baptist Church Building Fund, 9483 West FM 515, Alba, Texas 75410.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, 2 p.m., at the church.
