Services for Nita Fagg Savage, 90, Grand Saline, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Hays officiating.
Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery, Grand Saline.
Mrs. Savage passed away August 3, 2020, in Granbury. She was born October 31, 1929, in Dawson, to Alfred Clyde and Matti Odell Boone Fagg. As a child, she moved from Dawson to Jefferson by covered wagon with her family. Nita lived in Jefferson until she met and married the love of her life, Bud Savage. She and Bud married in Jefferson on October 14, 1947. They moved to Grand Saline, where she lived for the past seventy-two years and was a member of Richland Heights Baptist Church. Nita was an artist and known for her paintings. She was one of the first to make yard art for Christmas. She did numerous sketches of Jesus, some of which are displayed in several East Texas churches. Nita loved her family, especially the little ones. She was a great cook and would spend hours in the kitchen preparing special meals for her family from scratch. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of sixty-five years, Harold “Bud” Savage; grandson, Warren Ferguson; four brothers, Winston Fagg, David Fagg, Wayne Fagg, and Doug Fagg; two sisters, Jean Copeland and Mildred Wells; and son-in-law, Steve Davis.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Davis of Clovis, New Mexico and Lynn Loughry and husband Rick of Granbury; brother, Clyde Fagg and wife Opal of Talco; sister, LaVerne Harrist and husband Nolan of Jefferson; sister-in-law, Deanna Fagg of Avinger; five grandchildren, Shane Davis and wife June, Ashley Beyer and husband Jef, Chip Ferguson and wife Amanda, Neil Ferguson, and Chris Loughry and wife Matti; eleven great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Davis, Scott Davis, Drew Davis, Jordan Beyer, Jeter Beyer, Wyatt Ferguson, Walker Ferguson, Addison Loughry, Kyra Loughry, Jackson Loughry, and Annabel Loughry; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Fagg, Alan Fagg, Gary Fagg, Jarrod Sterrett, Chris Loughry, Gerald Fagg, and Donald Ritchie.
The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
