Obituary for Annie Lois Monroe (Hudgens)

Graveside services for Mrs. Annie Lois Hudgens Monroe, 97, of Alba, are scheduled for Noon, Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Enon Cemetery, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home of Alba.
Mrs. Monroe passed away July 15, 2020, in Mineola. She was born January 19, 1923, in Dallas, to Robert Louis & Bertha Alma Harman Hudgens. Annie worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII for Rockwell Collins Radio. She had lived in Wood County the last 19 years where she was a member of Bright Star Baptist Church. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Vernon Monroe; children, Gary Travis Monroe, Linda Chase, and Arlene Schwab; two grandsons, Gary Travis "Bubba" Monroe and Mark Schwab; five sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include her brother, Kenneth Hudgens; ten grandchildren, Danny Wilson, David Wilson, Billy Chase, Vonda Nicholson, Shelva Curts, Gloria Brown, Terri Monroe, Scott Monroe, Glen Schwab, and Trey Schwab; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday before the graveside service.
