Obituary for Lesley Paul "Les Paul" Clanton

Graveside services for Lesley Paul “Les Paul” Clanton, 48, of Lindale are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2020, at Concord Cemetery, Mineola with Trey Tenery officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Clanton passed away May 23, 2020, in Longview. He was born November 24, 1971, in Ft. Worth to Larry Paul and Lynda Nell Pope Clanton. He had lived in the Wood County area before moving to Lindale two years ago and was a member of the Alba Church of Christ. Les graduated from Alba Golden High School, where he played basketball, football, and was in the band. He enjoyed coaching his sons in summer baseball. Les loved music and could play any kind of instrument. He wrote numerous songs and poems. He loved to perform on stage at concerts, benefits, and get togethers. Les also enjoyed going to car shows and cooking for friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Paul Clanton; and grandparents, Jink Pope and Bill and Imogene Clanton.
Survivors include his parents, Lynda and Joe Melvin of Alba; two sons, Logan and Eric Clanton of Alba; one stepbrother, Wes Melvin of Keller; grandmother, Neva Nell Pope of Alba; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m., Friday at the funeral home in Alba.
