Obituary for Jimmy Dee Hazel
Services for Mr. Jimmy Dee Hazel, 66, Fruitvale, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Don Cannon and Kyle White officiating.
Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mr. Hazel passed away May 21, 2020, in Tyler. He was born March 22, 1954 in Grand Saline to Osa Dee & Billie Juanice Wheeler Hazel. He lived most of his life in Grand Saline and Fruitvale. Jimmy graduated from GSHS, Class of 1972 and was a member of Crossroads Church of Christ. He had worked for Morton Salt Co. for 45 years. Mr. Hazel is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Joan Laughery Hazel.
Survivors include his parents; Osa Dee & Billie Hazel of Fruitvale; son, Jonathan Smith of Fruitvale; daughter, Laura Joslin of Fruitvale; sister, Judy Woodrum and husband Jimmy of Fruitvale; two grandchildren, Garrett Joslin and J C Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Greg Gothard, John Oliver, Jimmy Pettiet, Lynn Neal and Jimmy Woods.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
