Obituary for Dorothy Strebeck (Taylor)

Services for Dorothy Strebeck, 89, of Alba are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Johnny Strebeck officiating.
Interment will be in Turner Cemetery, Emory.
Mrs. Strebeck passed away March 9, 2020, in Quitman. She was born July 11, 1930, in Grand Saline to Elmer Thomas and Susie Ann Sherwood Taylor. Dorothy was a resident of Wood County since 1968 and a member of the Golden Church of Christ. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to the birds, and she loved sweet tea. Her husband was allowed to hunt squirrels in the back woods, as long as he didn’t shoot “Her Squirrel”! Dorothy was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, and if they lost, the other team obviously cheated. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, W.C. Strebeck; infant daughter, Janie Sue Strebeck; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Strebeck and wife Teresa of Alba and Johnny Strebeck and wife Kathy of Broaddus; two daughters, Charlene Strebeck of Alba and Sharon Strebeck Dempsey of Mineola; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family would like to personally thank Quitman Hospital and their hospice personnel.
Pallbearers will be Charles Strebeck, Johnny Strebeck, Jerry Glasscock, Derek Glasscock, Ricky Dempsey, Chuck Strebeck, and Bobby Strebeck.
The family will receive friends, 1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
