Obituary for Anthony Lynn "Tony" Humphries

Services for Anthony Lynn “Tony” Humphries, 59, of Golden are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Alba with Dr. Kelly Burton officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Burial will be in Golden City Cemetery.
Tony passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020, at his residence. He was born Friday, April 22, 1960, in Dallas to Amos Lavern and Chessie Lou Altom Humphries. He was a brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and a friend. Tony moved to Golden from Garland 24 years ago. He battled cancer on and off since 2002. He did not let that stop him from enjoying his life and hobbies. Tony loved hunting, fishing, and simply being outdoors. Most days, he could be found wearing a favorite cap and cammo. Tony always had a love for animals. His best buddy over the past several years has been his energetic dog, Rebel. He attended First Baptist Church of Alba when he was able. Tony is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors include brother, Mike Humphries and wife Treva of Golden; cousins, Diane Hopper and Nedra Hopper of Redfield, Arkansas, and Johnny Childress and wife Laurel of Benton, Arkansas; and niece Chessie Humphries of Mineola.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Baldwin, Kelly Massie, Bill Bailey, Danny McCormack, Gary Massie, and Dee Willis.
