Obituary for Billy J. Fisher
Services for Mr. Billy J. Fisher, 87, Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2019, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Pederson officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Fisher passed away December 5, 2019, at his home. He was born January 13, 1932, in Wolco, OK, to Robert Harvey and Sarah Hall Fisher. He spent his early years in Wolco, then served 4 years in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman in California, 8 years in Levelland, TX and the last 54 years in Grand Saline. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline, had 37 years of service with Amoco Gas and 27 years with Walmart in Mineola. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Bell.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joann Fisher of Grand Saline; two sons, Daniel Joe Fisher and wife Marsha of Trenton and Jonathan Dale Fisher & Dana Harrison of Grand Saline; two daughters, Karyn Kay Heath and husband Phillip of Flint and Patricia Gail Tomlin and husband Joel of Scappose, OR; brother, Bob Fisher and wife Vi of Dallas; sister, Cleta Joy Heath of Florida; five grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Joe Fisher, Phillip Heath, Greg Heath, Chris Lane and Jonathan Fisher.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
