Obituary for William Lee "Bill" McDonald

Services for William Lee “Bill” McDonald, 74, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2019, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Bill passed away October 8, 2019 at his residence in Grand Saline. He was born September 18, 1945 in Sweetwater to David Lee and Willie Jo Barnes McDonald. He grew up in West Texas and then lived most of his life in Grand Saline. He was a former member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Grand Saline and worked in construction, remodeling homes and laying carpet for many years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Wilma Delayne McDonald and Judy Marie McDonald; grandson, Gage Croyle; great-grandson, Levi Wayne McDonald; and brother, Doug McDonald.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Deborah McDonald of Grand Saline; six sons, Robert Fred Calder and wife Cheryl of Royce City, William Lee McDonald, Jr. of Golden, Scott McDonald and wife Mary Nell of Grand Saline, Joe Bob McDonald and wife Amy of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Brett Davis of Altus, Oklahoma, and Sammy Davis and wife Jenna of Mineola; five daughters, Margie Dickerson and Ronnie White of Quitman, Laura Woods and husband Jamie of Grand Saline, Dana Grisso and husband Joe of Electra, Dawn Taylor and husband Gary of Tyler, and Stacia Bragg and husband Damon of Grand Saline; brother, David McDonald and wife Monica of Grand Saline; sister, Jodie Burton and husband Bill of Waller; sister-in-law, Sandra McDonald of Brownwood; son-in-law, Thomas Dickerson of Grand Saline; mother-in-law, Dixie Melton of Grand Saline; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday night at the funeral home
