My condolences to the Bates family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth. We hope you find comfort in God’s promises.

Robert was more than a cousin. He was my dear friend; the one I looked for every time I came home. I will miss him being in this world with me. And look forward to being in Heaven with him.
Freda, I am thankful for the time you and Robert met us in Las Vegas and the time you visited us here in Camarillo. Those are very good memories. God bless you and Mary and give you comfort during this awful time.

Capt Bates, was one of my favorite officers on DFD. I worked with him at 45’s and 9 dist thru many years. He was a great man and great fireman. He was one of the funniest guys I met on the fire dept. Praying for the family for peace and comfort. I’m sorry I can’t make the funeral. My wife is having hip replacement surgery in the morning.
Love, Danny Campbell

Robert was very kind to my parents. He helped them in several ways. They could always depend on him to help. After my dad went to the nursing home, he continued to visit. He also checked on my mother after my dad passed away.
