ALBA – Graveside services for Willard Eugene Ransom, 70, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Colony Cemetery, Alba, with Chaplain C. J. Duffey officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Ransom passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, in Alba.
He was born July 5, 1948, in Van Zandt County, to Buddy and Johnnie Gladys Spillers Ransom. Eugene married Judy Lynn Gordon on July 13, 1968, in Grand Saline. He lived most of his life in Rains County. He was in the Army and worked for the City of Dallas for 28 years and retired as a Sanitation Supervisor.
He is survived by wife of 50 years, Judy Ransom of Alba; son, Virgil Ransom of Alba; daughter Roxie Lewers and son-in-law, Billy Horton of Alba; sisters, Ann Devore of Quinlan and Patsy Josline of Grand Saline; grandsons, Timothy Lewers of Alba and Billy Horton, Jr. of Alba; granddaughters, Cammie Harris of Point, Sierra Ruth of Nebraska, and Jennifer Crabb of Emory; five great-grandchildren; nephews, James Hawkins of Edgewood and James Means of Woodville; and niece, Maria Adams of Quinlan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Gary Sizemore, Jon Wedeking, Chris Harris, Ben Wedeking and Gene Gordon.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel before the service.
