Obituary for Rev. John D. Riggle

Services for Rev. John D. Riggle, 79, Tyler, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Tyler Tabernacle with Pastor Mike Littlefield and Adam Riggle officiating.
Interment will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Riggle passed away April 11, 2019, in a Tyler hospice. He was born December 8, 1939, in Winters, to George Herman & Lillie Mae Young Riggle. He was raised in Grand Saline and served in the US Air Force. Mr. Riggle had lived in Tyler since 1988, where he was a member of Tyler Tabernacle. He served as pastor of numerous churches and was also a Certified Peace Officer for Smith County Sheriff's Dept. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Lonnie Elbert Riggle; brothers, Elsie Lee "Tiny" Riggle, William Kenneth Riggle, Joe Paul Riggle and Bill Frank Riggle; sisters, Wanda Lou Riggle, Glenda Ruth Anderson and Georgia Mae Riggle; and grandson, Jacob Lewis Riggle.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Bradley Riggle; four sons, Tom Riggle and wife Deneen, Tim Riggle and wife Rachel, Carl Riggle and wife Shellie, and Sam Riggle and wife Tammie, all of Tyler; one daughter, Krista Downey and husband James of Tyler; brother, George Riggle Jr. of Arlington; sister, Dorris Coppinger of Midlothian; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kris Downey, Lawrence Hines, Brad Lambright, Kris Prince, Adam Riggle and Matt Riggle.
The family will receive friends 2 p.m., Sunday, at the church, Tyler Tabernacle, 3115 E. 5th St., Tyler, TX.
