Obituary for Joe Sutton
Services for Joe Sutton, 79, Canton, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Sutton passed away March 10, 2019, at his home in Canton. He was born April 19, 1939, in Tucson, AZ, to Joe Dorris & Dorothy Walraven Sutton. Joe spent his early years in Tucson, AZ before moving to the Van Zandt County area 55 years ago. He received his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma and retired as an engineer from APAC after 42 years of service. Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren, Cody Bill Post and Chance Evans Post.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Sutton of Canton; two sons, Joe Douglas Sutton of The Woodlands and Dale McEuen of Forney; four daughters, Patricia Sutton Dietrich of Tucson, AZ, Shalyn Sutton Prudhomme of Redding, CA, Debra Joan Sutton of Tucson, AZ and Cindy Sutton of College Station; one brother, John Mitchell Sutton of Tucson, AZ; 12 grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Race Ussery, Christopher Sutton, Riley Ussery, Michael Sutton, Matthew McEuen, Chelsea Loerzel, Chad Dietrich, Trevor McEuen, Sara Dietrich and Jacob Sutton.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
