Obituary for Thurman Dale "Jack" Knull

Services for Thurman Dale "Jack" Knull, 94, of Mineola, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Larpenteur officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Knull passed away January 1, 2019, in Tyler. He was born July 11, 1924, in Grand Saline, to Samuel Joseph & Nola Lee Boles Knull. Jack spent his early years in Grand Saline, many years in Tyler and the last 45 years in Mineola. He graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1943 and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Jack was a sergeant in the Eighth Air Force in France and Germany in World War II. He received a BA from Southern Nazarene University, and a BS and a Master of Education degree from the University of Nebraska. Mr. Knull served 46 years in education as a regular and special education teacher, counselor, and associate school psychologist. He retired in 1997 from the Wood County Special Education Cooperative, where he served 24 years. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; Sam and Nola Knull; wife of 65 years, Zella May Knull; daughter, Nola Beth Rucker; granddaughter, April Ann Lowrance; and two brothers, Cleon Vernon Knull and Ralph Edward Knull.
Survivors include son, Harley Knull and wife Kay of Mineola; daughter, Lori Knull of Victoria; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
