Ramona Maye Melton Lewers

MINEOLA – Funeral services for Ramona Maye Melton Lewers, 79, of Mineola, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, in the Chapel, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Gary Dale Allan officiating.
Burial will be in Emory City Cemetery, Emory.
Mrs. Lewers passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at her residence in Mineola.
She was born Friday, July 29, 1938, in Emory, to the late Luther L. and Rubye Molly Kearney Melton. Ramona married Freddie Roy Lewers on January 16, 1958 in Dallas. They lived in the Alba area for 40 years after moving from Vidor. She was a member of the Harvest Acres Baptist Church, Mineola.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Fred Lewers of Mineola; daughters, Kimberly and husband Carl Morris of Lindale and Pamela and husband Chuck McCartney of Mineola; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arvis Wayne Melton; and sister, Lanona Murphy.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chuck McCartney, Lance Ripley, Chris Morris, Carl Morris, Matt Janes, Matt Norris, and Coty Morris.
