Johnnie Lee Brown Stiggers

LONE OAK – Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Brown Stiggers, 89, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Greenville, under direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak, with Rev. Marvin McPherson officiating and Rev. Danny Alexander giving the Eulogy.
Interment will be in Rabb Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Mrs. Stiggers passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at her residence in Lone Oak.
She was born August 18, 1928, in Palestine, to the late Johnnie and Leola Stevenson Brown. Johnnie graduated from St. Paul High School in Neylandville. She married Elmo Stiggers on December 5, 1955, in Hunt County. She worked for Lone Oak ISD in the snack bar. She lived most of her life in Hunt County and lived in Lone Oak since August of 1980. She was a Mission’s sister, and she was a member of the Assembly of God.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Adkins and friend Gail of Wolfe City, Rev. Elmo Jr. and wife Lovell Stiggers of Rowlett, Donald Stiggers of Lone Oak, Gary and wife Laurie Stiggers of Manor, and Sammy and wife Sandy Stiggers of Bristow, Virginia; daughters, Rosie Edwards of Tyler, Sonja Everett of Sherman, Jacqueline Trigg of Greenville, and Doris and husband Richard Jr. Crockett of Sherman; brother, Eddie Lee and wife Sally Brown of Greenville; sisters, Kreather Oliver of Dallas, Ruby Kay Martin of Dallas, and Hattie Brown of Lone Oak; 40 plus grandchildren; 50 plus great-grandchildren; 10 plus great-great-grandchildren; sister in Christ, Pearl Wilson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Elmo Stiggers; 4 sons; and 2 daughters.
Pallbearers will be Charles Moore, Wesley Govan, Jerry Cook, Victor Hubbard, Brian Green, and Marcus Stiggers.
Visitation will be 9-5 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
