Obituary for Jose Alcala Castillo

Jose Alcala Castillo
Jose “Pepe” Castillo Alcala

Jose Castillo Alcala, 80, of Alba, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Oklahoma, with his
loving wife Janet by his side.
Jose was born March 19, 1938 in Melchor Muzquiz, Mexico. He was the 8th child out of 10 born
to Guadalupe and Antonia Alcala Castillo.
As a young boy growing up in Mexico, Jose learned to work on trucks with his father. As an
adult, he became a teacher of welding and auto mechanics in Mexico. After moving to Texas in
1969, Jose continued on with a career as a diesel mechanic.
Jose was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974. He raised 3 children, Suzanne,
Antonia, and Thomas with Claudia Wilson.
Jose and Janet Reames were wed in March 1998. They were active members of the
congregation in Mineola and enjoyed sharing their faith with others. After retiring from Mallory’s
Propane in 2003, Jose and Janet were able to spend more time traveling and visiting family.
Jose especially enjoyed taking Janet to his hometown in Mexico. Jose was a brave,
adventurous, loving, kind, generous, and humble man.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Castillo of Alba; daughters, Suzanne and Antonia; brothers,
Javier Castillo of Piedras Negras, Mexico and Roberto Castillo of Monterrey, Mexico; sisters,
