Services for Jonell Langford Allen, 82, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Interment will be in Rodgers Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen passed away April 16, 2018, in Lindale. She was born September 12, 1935, in Quinlan to Arthur & Erma Dixon Langford. She married Joe Dean Allen March 20, 1953. Jonell retired from Southwestern Bell and Titus Manufacturing (Koppers) as a production scheduler. She most recently retired from Walmart as a Department Supervisor where she was grandmother to all who crossed her path. She had been a Vacation Bible School teacher, Sunday School teacher and also served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Boy Scout Den Mother. Jonell was an awesome seamstress and had made many garments over the years, including Halloween costumes for the kids and grandkids. Everyone that stopped by her home was offered Gigi's sweet iced tea or her famous pies. She was also known for serving a dinner, fondly referred to as "Gigi's Mess". She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Dean Allen; and 3 brothers, Bruce Langford, Leroy Langford and Barney Langford; sisters, Mildred Ledbetter and Geraldine Kirby.
Survivors include her two sons, Dean Allen and wife Judy of San Antonio and Gary Allen and wife Sharla of Grand Saline; brother, Wayne Langford of Wills Point; two sisters, Melba Gaston and Bessie Petrea, both of Wills Point; six grandchildren, Jamie Lopez, Chad Moore, Ashley Travis, Leah Martinez, Lyna Henderson and Kristey Busby; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Moore, Herman Burgess, Nicholas Clark, Terry Goggans, Eddie Gronewald and Robbie Kirby.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Alliance of NE Texas at www.alzalliance.org.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
