Obituary for Mickey Wayne Haisten

ALBA – Funeral services for Mickey Wayne Haisten, 58, of Alba, are scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 2 p.m. at West Erwin Church of Christ, Tyler, with Pastor Danny Bristow officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Haisten passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at a Tyler hospice facility surrounded by family.
He was born Friday, July 11, 1958, in Quitman to Mac and Dianne Galyean Haisten. He lived most of his life in the Alba area and was a member of the Grand Saline Church of Christ. Mickey married Betty Gail Pope on May 20, 1978, in Alba. He retired as a captain after 28 years with the Tyler Fire Department, he was on the Firefighter’s Pension Board of the Tyler Fire Department, and he was former vice president of the Tyler Professional Firefighters Association. Mickey was a former co-owner of Haisten’s Grocery, a former city council member, and volunteer firefighter for the city of Alba.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Haisten of Alba; mother, Dianne Haisten of Alba; sons, Matt and wife NaCall Haisten of Alba, and Justin and wife Deana Haisten of Aubrey; brother, Keith and wife Cindy Haisten of Quitman; sister, Kay and husband Rusty Armstrong of Point; and three grandchildren, Avery, Nolan, and Landry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mac Haisten.
Pallbearers will be Cody Fisher, Corey Haisten, Ethan Haisten, Narwin Gaby, Terry Clark, and Jamey Watson.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Tyler Fire Department.

Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Alba.
