Obituary for Margie Dell Wallace (Shaw)

Margie Dell Wallace (Shaw)
ALBA – Services for Margie Dell Shaw Wallace, 77, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Freedom Baptist Church, Mineola, with Bro. Al Dusek and Bro. James Wheat officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mrs. Wallace passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016, at a Tyler hospital.
She was born Saturday, June 3, 1939, in Alba, to the late Walton Dutch and Mary Westbrook Shaw. She married Alan Frank Wallace on August 4, 1957, in Dallas. Margie moved from Arlington in 1978 and lived in the Alba area for 38 years. She played basketball for the Alba Eagles at Alba ISD where she graduated in 1955 (last year before consolidation). She worked for Xerox in Dallas, Terry’s Furniture in Emory, and retired from J&L Utility in Edgewood after 32 years. She was a charter member of Freedom Baptist Church, where she loved to serve. Margie was a devoted grandmother, but nothing rated higher than her role of great grandmother. Her last five years were filled with the love, laughter and adventures of Eli, Emree and Dixie, her dog.
Survivors include her son, Joe Wallace of Alba; granddaughter, Randi & Brian Boggs of Canton; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Emree; nephew, Michael and Su-Su Collier of Cedar Hill; niece, Brenda Carol and James Wheat of Mineola; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Frank Wallace; brother, J.L. Shaw; sister, Ruth Collier; and four infant children.
Pallbearers will be J.P. Boyd, Sam Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, David Elmore, Dawson Elmore, and Terry Massie.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church Building Fund.
Family visitation will be Monday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
