Obituary for Dale Williams

Dale Williams

COACH DALE: Dale Williams, age 74, of Canton, Texas left to be with our Lord the morning of Sunday, August 21, 2016. Dale was born November 18, 1941 in Willow Springs, Texas. He was raised in Alba, Texas by parents Roy and Mattie Williams and graduated from Alba-Golden High School Class of 1960.

Dale lived a full life and held several engineering positions in his early years. It wasn’t until 1998 when he finally got to pursue his true passion for a living. In the summer of '98, Dale Williams began Dale Williams Pitching School with his wife, Darlene, by his side. Girls fast-pitch truly was his passion in life next to his family. Coach Dale instilled hard work, dedication, determination, and drive in every girl that walked onto his pitching lane. Sitting outside on his bucket, clicking his counter and telling each girl “if you are dedicated and work hard I will make a pitcher of you” and that he did. Coach Dale would lead countless girls to victory on the mound. He is responsible for many All State titles and victories. He helped many girls earn excellent college scholarships and was well respected in the fast-pitch industry. Coach Dale has left behind a legacy many will not forget. Husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, coach, and friend - he will be greatly missed by many.

Dale is preceded in death by parents Italy Roy and Mattie Lou Williams; Sisters
Barbara Louise Williams and Carol Joan Shrum.
