ALBA – Services for Rickey “Crash” Neal Bennett, 61, of Alba, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church with Bro. Byron George officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of
Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Bennett passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at a Quitman hospital.
He was born Friday, January 28, 1955, in Dallas, to the late Joe Davis and Sibyl Eugenia Baily Bennett. He lived most of his life in the Alba area. “Crash” married Bonita Diane Colegrove on March 16, 2006 in Quitman and worked as a fabricator at Old Castle Glass in Alba for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Bonita Bennett of Alba; son, Joshua Dunn of Alba; 2 daughters, Stephanie Godfrey of Mount Vernon and Christie McCarter of Eustace; 2 brothers, James and Billie Bennett of Emory and Michael and Rita Bennett of Emory; 3 sisters, Dorothy Short of Emory, Linda and Gary Herd of Duncanville, and JoAnn Bennett of Emory; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Melton, Matt Green, Randy Hullman, Ricky Johnson, Wade Murdock, Allen Lennon, and Richard McCallum.
Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Old Castle Glass.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
