ALBA – Services for Jessie Sweeden, 66, of Alba, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of
Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Sweeden passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at a Tyler hospital.
Jessie was born Sunday, December 18, 1949, in Alba, to the late William Ernie and Mae Ellen Hill Sweeden. He joined the Army in 1967 and married Ginger Dianne Deel March 13, 1970, in Alba. He worked as a drywall contractor in the construction industry. Jessie was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba. He lived all of his life in the Alba area.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ginger Sweeden of Alba; son, Leslie and Sebrina Sweeden of Alba; daughters, Melody and Michael Eidson of Caddo Mills and Sherry and Licia Sweeden of Greenville; brothers, William Ernie Sweeden, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia, Ferrell and Mary Jo Sweeden of Arlington, and Travis Edward Sweeden of Alba; sisters, Sherry Pace of Alba, Linda Mae and James Phillips of Alba, and Beverly Kay and Jimmy Phillips of Alba; 7 grandchildren, Keith Sweeden, Allee Mae Sweeden, Raegan Sweeden, Justin Lorenz Sweeden, Kimberly Miller, Bryton Eidson, and Chase Eidson; 2 step grandchildren, Trevor and Cameron; 3 great-grandchildren, Whiskey, Miles, and Jackson; special dog “Killer”; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry Lee Sweeden and Aubrey Lee Sweeden; sisters, Carolyn June Sweeden and Melba Louise Sweeden; and half-sister, Betty Watson.
Pallbearers will be Norman Barnhart, Johnny Hill, Edward Lewers, Mike Hill, Robbie Hill, Allen Lennon, and Bailey Hawley.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
