Obituary for Joseph Tilmon Goebel

GOLDEN – Services for Joseph Tilmon Goebel, 72, of Golden, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Sand Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Nick Kerry and Bro. Jim Parker officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Cemetery, Golden.
Mr. Goebel passed away Friday, January 9, 2015, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Sunday, September 6, 1942, in Grand Saline, to the late Henry Thomas and Thelma Lee Horn Goebel. He married Judy Ann Hughes on January 7, 1967, in Golden. He moved from Mineola to the Golden area 40 years ago. He worked for Tyler Pipe Industries for 36 years as a core maker, and was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Goebel of Golden; daughters, Matasha Goebel of Golden, Heather Allen and husband Jon of Golden, and Jo-Anna Wilkinson and husband Bobby of Midland; brothers, Arvis Goebel of Crosby, Joel Goebel of Dennis, and Paul Goebel of Grand Saline; sisters, Luettie Golden of Myrtle Springs, Patricia Prestidge of Whitehouse, Anita Goebel of Garland, Deborah Brooks of Celeste, Jeannie Howle of Winnsboro, and Barbara Rhodes of Mineola; 19 grandchildren: Candace, Charlie, Jed, Jake, Joseph, JJ, Anna-Lee, Jessica, John Michael, Jenn, Chelbie, Jack, Abby, Lexi, James, Alli, Judge, Bella, and July; one great-granddaughter, Harleigh; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lavell Hallonquist, and an infant child.
Pallbearers are Jed Allen, Jake Allen, Joseph Hewitt, JJ Allen, Jon Allen, and Bobby Wilkinson.
