ALBA – Memorial services for Charlcie Irene Banks Lucas, 77, of Alba, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Lake Fork Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Perry Crisp officiating, under the direction of the family and church.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mrs. Lucas passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, in Tyler.
Charlcie was born January 11, 1941 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Richard and Geneva Banks. She married the love of her life, Jerry L. Lucas, on September 10, 1961 in Bessemer. She worked as a bank bookkeeper and then as a church secretary in several of the communities they lived in. After retirement, Charlcie and Jerry settled at Lake Fork, making Alba their home. Charlcie was a great cook and an excellent quilter. She was a passionate member of the Lake Fork Baptist Church’s sewing ministry. Charlcie was a Past Matron of Oak Grove Chapter No. 380 OES.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jerry Lucas of Alba; sons, Lynn (Denise) Lucas of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Jeff (April) Lucas of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; sisters, Alice (Wesley) Tubbs of Bessemer, Alabama and Janice (Larry) Richey of Oneonta, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Anita Banks of Bessemer, Alabama and Perry Ann Banks of Bessemer, Alabama; grandchildren, Jessica (Ted), Nikolette (Cort), Regan, and Anthony (Jessica); and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Charlotte, Eloise, Joshua, Emma, Allison, and a seventh great-grandchild due in October.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Roland Banks, Clifton Banks, and Joe Banks.
Memorials can be made to the Lake Fork Baptist Church Sewing Ministry.
