Frances Marie Jones Garner

LONE OAK – Graveside services for Frances Marie Jones Garner, 82, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Donelton Cemetery, Lone Oak, with Pastor Robert Burns, Jr. officiating, under the direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.
Mrs. Garner passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, at her residence in Lone Oak. She was born April 18, 1935, in Lone Oak, to the late John Coleman and Alice Lorene Williams Jones. She graduated with the class of 1953 of Lone Oak High School and worked and was retired with many years of service at E-Systems. Frances owned and operated DG Kennels, which allowed her and her husband to travel the country racing Greyhound Dog. She was a member of the Donelton Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Mark and wife Louann Garner of Lone Oak; sister, Margie Mize of Greenville; grandchildren, Keith and wife Stephanie Putman of Greenville, Rachel Garner and Tracy Burns of Lone Oak, and Rebecca Dyer of Sulphur Springs; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Putman and Hunter Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Shirley Garner; daughter, DeAnn Weatherly; sisters, Dorothy O’Dell Williams and Johnny Powell; and brothers, Eddie Lee “Buck” Jones and Bobby Frank Jones.
The family would like to express a special thanks to their extended friends and family at Hospice Plus.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
